Osprey Photography Workshops
There is no need to travel all the way to Scotland to photography wild Ospreys, for the past 5 years I have been running Osprey Photography Workshops over at a private hide near Rutland Water in Leicestershire, where there are more than 8 breeding pairs.
Our hide is situated at the end of a pool at water level, has good seating, toilet facilities onsite and as well as several visits per day from Ospreys also has Red Kites and Kingfishers that fish as well as resident Herons,Kestrels and Muntjac Deer.
My workshops only ever take place during June and July,as this is when the chicks have been born but not fledged and need constant feeding and I am on hand to give guidance on camera settings, when to shoot etc.
We typically shoot at around 300mm, so lenses in the 70-300mm,100-400mm, 150-600mm range are ideal.
We also have the services of an Osprey spotter who communicates with me in the hide to inform me of approaching birds etc and sometimes the Ospreys can dive as close as 3 meters from the hide it is exhilarating stuff and offers the opportunity to get the shot of a lifetime.
If you are buying this workshop as a gift then Gift Vouchers are available, simply request when booking.
